SEND Consultancy
What does RocketEd offer?
As the parent or carer of a child with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND), you may need a helping hand to help you understand and navigate legal or local authority processes. We offer impartial, confidential and accurate information and advice, as well as training and support on topics relating to SEND for parents, carers, schools and other settings.
There are many myths surrounding SEND processes and practices, and we aim to dispel these to ensure that you are in possession of the most relevant information to secure good outcomes for your child or young person. Our aim is to empower you to be knowledgeable, confident and able to make your own informed decisions. While we don’t offer advocacy or tribunal support, the range of work we offer includes:
General or specific advice on SEND topics such as the SEND Code of Practice (2015), SEND Support, school and local authority roles and responsibilities, queries around phase transfer, exclusions, SEND transport and what ‘lodging a tribunal’ means;
Support to understand the Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) process, advice and guidance on what to expect at each stage, what questions to ask, when and of whom;
Advice on what’s needed for a successful EHCNA application. We can review EHCP applications parents may already have drafted, providing advice on areas to amend, review or remove before submission to the local authority. If preferred, with sufficient information we can complete EHCNA applications from scratch;
Information on what to expect from an Annual Review (AR), how the AR impacts the EHCP and can be requested by parents and carers. We can review AR documentation before submission to the local authority, with additional advice on phase transfer for children and young people in Year 5, Year 9 or Year 11;
Bespoke remote training sessions on a range of topics including SEN Support, EHC Needs Assessments, the content of an EHCP and transitions.
