Emma Jones
Specialist SEN Tutor

BA (Hons), NASENCo, QTS, PGDip, MA

Emma is a proud member of the RocketEd team, working as a Specialist SEN Tutor both face-to-face in her local area, as well as remotely. Emma is deeply passionate about creative and inclusive practice. She has acquired extensive knowledge and skills from a diverse group of professionals during her time as a primary SENCo. Emma is also an experienced primary education lecturer, specialising in supporting neurodiverse students through online teaching.

Emma’s dedication to early identification and compassionate support is rooted in her personal experiences with autistic family members, as well as her own ADHD diagnosis. She understands how it feels to learn in an unsuitable environment and promotes self-understanding in her students so that they can advocate for themselves and the changes they need to access learning. Emma has successfully applied the insights from her personal experiences to various teaching and SEN roles in mainstream education, working extensively with children from two to thirteen years old.

Emma now works as an independent SEN consultant and inclusion advisor, with a teaching approach that emphasises practical and creative learning, tailored to support the interests and long-term goals of the learners. She holds a NASENCo qualification and a PGDip in Mental Health in Education. Emma is currently pursuing her Masters in Inclusive Education and her Level 5 Specialist Dyslexia Tutor award. She is passionate about empowering individuals through literacy and firmly believes that everyone can learn to read and write with the right support in place.

Emma offers specialist SEN tuition for children and young people of all ages, up to the age of 25. Based in the Peak District, Emma supports face-to-face learners across Staffordshire Moorlands and Cheshire East (please see map) as well as offering remote tuition for those who prefer it or are further afield.
