Autism Advice and Support
What does RocketEd offer?
You may be wondering if your child is autistic and whether to seek an assessment. Your child may have received a diagnosis or they may not, but either way, you are probably experiencing a mixture of emotions. These may include bewilderment at trying to figure out what you should do to help your child to thrive, or relief for having an explanation for your child’s difficulties. You might be asking questions such as ‘What does it mean?’ ‘How can I help my child?’ ‘What could their school do to support them?’ ‘What might the future hold?’
RocketEd offers an expert autism service which offers support for for parents and school staff which aims to improve understanding about autism or the journey towards a diagnosis, and to empower parents to know how best to help their child.
This is offered as a standard part of our autism assessment service but can also be arranged on a regular or ad-hoc basis separately or as a follow-up to this. Parents or professionals can book in-person or remote consultations, in which you will work with us to explore the current situation and for us to suggest strategies to support the child at home and/or at school. After each consultation, RocketEd will provide you with a summary of the key actions you discussed, so that you don’t need to take notes during the consultation. Consultations can vary in length (1 hour minimum) depending on your need and preference.
RocketEd is also able to offer training to schools or parent groups on what autism is and best practice for supporting autistic children and young people. Please contact us if you would like to find out more about our expert autism advice service or book in a session with us.
