Alexis Beaver
Educational and Child Psychologist

Alexis has been working as an Educational and Psychologist for over thirty years. She has worked both for local authorities and in private practice, and is experienced in delivering a wide range of services to children, parents and professionals.

Having gained a Psychology degree (Bachelor of Science) at Birmingham University, Alexis trained as a teacher at Leeds University. She enjoyed working as a primary school teacher for five years, leading year groups in Key Stages 1 and 2. However, keen to pursue her interest in psychology further, she gained a place at UCL where she qualified as an Educational Psychologist.

Alexis joins RocketEd having already had a diverse career within Educational Psychology, working with children with a wide range of needs and supporting children, families and staff in nurseries, schools and colleges. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team she honed her therapeutic and intervention skills alongside skills in consultation and assessment. Alexis has worked closely with specialist and early years teams, including those specialising in autism, complex pre-school cases and children with visual impairment. Alexis has a particular interest in the development of literacy and maths skills and has worked closely with settings to develop policies, training and intervention protocols in these areas. Alexis is currently a member of the Association of Child Psychologists in Private Practice (ACHIPPP) Special Interest Group in Specific Learning Difficulties.

Alexis is a Chartered Educational Psychologist, registered with the British Psychological Society, a member of the Association of Child Psychologists in Private Practice, Association of Educational Psychologists and of the Health and Care Professions Council (PYL0011). Alexis offers individual educational psychology assessments.
